The real problem of humanity ...

The real problem of humanity is the following: we have paleolithic emotions, medieval institutions, and god-like technology.

An Honest Manager's Cheat Codes

A manager makes fire under your arse, but a leader makes fire in your heart.

When you run alone, you are quick, but when you run as part of a team, you run far - An African wisdom.

Humor goes a long way, even in tough times.

Always hire people smarter than you.

Do not ever use your "power" as manager to make people do stuff, it only works once.

Culture eats strategy for breakfast - Peter Drucker.

Ask forgiveness, not permission.

Honesty is better than sugarcoated bullsh*t.

Starstuff

The nitrogen in our DNA, the calcium in our teeth, the iron in our blood, the carbon in our apple pies were made in the interiors of collapsing stars. We are made of starstuff.

These are three of the biggest problems facing today's AI

These are three of the biggest problems facing today's AI (From https://goo.gl/6wk4mf):
1. First you get the data, then you get the AI
2. Specialization is for insects — AI needs to be able to multitask
3. It's only real intelligence if you can show your working

Public cell phone talking...

After a tiring day, a commuter settled down in his train seat and closed his eyes. A young woman sat down next to him, and, as the train rolled out of the station, pulled out her cell phone and started talking in a loud voice, "Hi sweetheart. It's Sue. I'm on the train." "Yes, I know it's the six thirty and not the four thirty, but I had a long meeting." "No, honey, not with that Kevin from the accounting office. It was with the boss." "No sweetheart, you're the only one in my life." "Yes, I'm sure, cross my heart!" Fifteen minutes later, she was still talking loudly. The man sitting next to her had now had enough. He leaned over and said into the phone, "Sue, get off the damn phone and come back to bed." Sue no longer uses her cell phone in public
